GUS ecology and innovative technology as a success factor
Last Wednesday, 09.06.2021, the team of GUS Gewässer-Umwelt-Schutz GmbH laid the foundation stone for a new logistics centre at the NOH-Süd Otto-Hahn-Straße/Lise-Meitner-Straße industrial estate.
Together with their guests, Dr. Michael Kiehl (First District Councillor), Ralf Hilmes (Head of Economic Development), Günther Epmann (Project Manager of Wittag), Siegbert Terwey (Terwey Bau) and representatives from their own team, they toasted the start of construction of a modern logistics hall with an area of over 1,100 square metres, 37 shelves and more than 600 pallet spaces.
“For more than 15 years, we have been successfully developing and distributing collection and separation systems for the refrigeration and air conditioning industry in order to sustainably protect our groundwater from contamination by oils, used oils and other light liquids. Our oil and glycol protectors are appreciated throughout Europe – also because they can be safely integrated into a wide variety of installation systems.” Johannes Junge, Managing Director of GUS GmbH, elaborates in his address. “We have an annual turnover of more than 6.5 million euros, a stock turnover rate of 29 and will continue to grow this year. The expansion of our warehouse and logistics department is a logical and important step for a healthy expansion of the company.”
Dr. Michael Kiehl praised this entrepreneurial commitment in his greeting: “Especially in the uncertain Corona pandemic with all the economic challenges of this special time, the company is demonstrating strength. Courageous decisions and investments that will hopefully pay off in the future.” Ralf Hilmes from the Economic Development Department appreciates the company and the families that are rooted with it “A company with a future!”.
“The strength of GUS is its employees. As a team, we work in flat hierarchies with top digital and modern workplaces and apprenticeships. So there is always a good exchange among each other – an important success factor. And anyone who is still looking for a commercial apprenticeship for August is cordially invited to submit their application to us!” Adds Managing Director Cornelia Wilhelm in conclusion. “The new workplaces in the logistics centre will be bright and friendly and include spacious office and social rooms. New modern facilities, such as a vacuum lifting system for large components, are intended to relieve colleagues, contribute to their well-being and increase productivity at the same time. Together with our colleagues, we are looking forward to completion in September this year.”
The energy transition challenge – sustainable and economical

GDS damping base – NOW newly designed
Our standard GDS damping bases are available in three different sizes. They offer a mounting solution for outdoor units, pipework and ventilation ducts.
The GDS damping bases are each equipped with an aluminium mounting rail (41mm x 22mm), where the complete equipment, including cables and ducts, can easily be attached to using the suitable screw set (optional).
Our GUSFoot installation system – NOW in a new design and MADE IN GERMANY
Our successful GUSFoot mounting system is available as custom-made product, brexit-safe, including German statics certificate and CAD drawing. Each steel component is hot-dip galvanized. GES glycol protector
The GES (glycol detection system) is a new type of sensor that detects and distinguishes unwanted dirt loads such as glycols in the draining water.
AwSV
The federal government has passed the ordinance on installations handling materials hazardous to water (AwSV) in 2017! Prior to this year 16 federal lands had different regulations.
According to the official note by the federal law gazette, volume 2017 part I, No 22, published 21 April 2017, the new AwSV has been enacted on 1 August 2017. Thereby the former ordinance on installations handling materials hazardous to water (VAwS) from 31 March 2010 (Federal Law Gazette BGBl I p 377) was no longer applicable.
The former VAwS was one of the most important regulations concerning the protection of soil and waterbodies. Since 2010 those 16 different regulations have been changed into the new AwSV successfully.

GEO geoprotector

GUS-Team takes 3rd place out of 9 teams
With best summer weather condition, the 1st Grafschafter Highland Games started on Sunday at 11 a.m. The GUS team with Matthias Böhm, Mathis Buscher, Jobe Gallass Falu, Johannes Junge, Julian Leemhuis, Ralf Ramaker and André Strohm cut a good figure in eight different sports activities and ended up taking 3rd place for us at around 5:30 p.m. .
